mega evolution rules
these are the rules that effect all mega evolutions throughout the site
+ ONLY ONE Pokemon on your team may Mega Evolve in any given thread.
+ MEGA EVOLVING takes up one action of that turn.
+ MEGA RINGS ARE OBTAINED at the same time a character obtains their second badge. It will be given by the Gym Leader at the same time as the badge.
+ MEGA RINGS CAN BE INTERPRETED differently for each character. We just ask that you leave it in a simple form. Rings, watches, bracelets, necklaces, badges, circlets, etc. are okay; however giant megaring weapons are not acceptable.
+ MEGA STONES are found primarily through mining. The exception to this is exclusive to character who have defeated the Elite Four and are acknowledged as a Champion of the Torrenta Region. Megastones can then be purchased in the Pokestore. (note: the character is not required to be "Reigning Champion" of Torrenta; just have beaten the Elite Four and have been entered into the hall of fame.)
+ MINED UP MEGA STONES can be transferred between your own characters (following the proper transfer rules) or traded to other members for an item of equal value. Please no trading Pokeballs for Megastones, or other silly, one-sided exchanges. Mined up Mega Stones may NOT be sold to the Pokestore.
+ PURCHASED MEGA STONES are character bound, and may not be traded, transferred, nor re-sold. Make your transactions carefully, as all sales are final; and they aren't cheap.
+ MEGA EVOLVED POKEMON act exactly as they do in the games. Abilities change if necessary, appearance changes, types change if applicable, and their stats increase as well.
+ MEGA KANGASKHAN is the only exception to the above rule. Parental bond allows an additional attack per turn in the game, we translate that slightly differently here on Torrenta. On Torrenta, Parental Bond has the following effects:
Mega Kangaskhan will be able to perform THREE actions in a single post. That being said, in normal battle rules, you are allowed two actions per turn; which are generally a status move, and an attacking move. With Mega Kangaskhan, there is some flexibility.
Any action that, under normal battle rules, would take up an entire turn will be considered as taking up TWO of the three actions. This includes No-miss moves, item uses, healing moves, and lock-on moves. This means that yes, as a Mega Evolved Pokemon; you can use an item and attack in the same turn (as long as the attack does not take up two actions).
Some of the possible combinations under Parental bond are as follows:
- Status for you, Status against foe, and attack against foe.
- Healing Move, and attack or status move against foe.
- Lock on move, and attack against foe.
- Item use, and attack or status move against foe.
- Status for you, and two attack moves against foe.
Remember, these are probably not the only possibilities, but it gives you an idea of what is allowed.
+ MORE RULES will be added if necessary, as more Mega Evolution battles are held in the future. Please check back here frequently to make sure nothing has changed, as these rules are subject to change without announcement.
