NAME --Vertigo AbernathyGENDER --FemaleAGE --23AFFILIATION --Neutral
CLASS --Trainer
APPEARANCE --Tall and thin (6'2", 116 lbs), Vertigo seems like she's made up of all angles. Her fingers are long and thin, and seem almost brittle. While she's not willowy, Vertigo is quite lanky. Long, thin arms and legs are knobby, knees and elbows sharp and pointy. If there was a personality that would show up in appearance, this is the girl. Dark-skinned, with thick dark brown hair cut into an A-line short bob, she is the definition of dark. Her hair has the vague hint of dark red when hit with sunlight, but unlike the usual people, she has green eyes instead of dark brown.
She's usually found wearing her favorite clothing. A thick dark purple pullover hoodie is the first thing that people notice, especially since it's two times her normal size. Underneath it is a pale green t-shirt with the words 'I can't hear you, can you speak a little louder?' scratched across it in black. Her sturdy cargo pants are a dark gray, with a zipper planted right in the middle of the legs. This is to transform the pants into shorts. They're pretty much Vertigo's favorite outfit. Her running shoes are sturdy and slightly worn.
PERSONALITY --mistrustful -- blunt -- skittish -- aggressive -- cruel
One of the biggest things about vertigo is that she's very mistrustful. Since her parents were killed in a car accident in when she was about three years old, she's been in several precarious situations that now see vertigo with severe trust issues. Inasmuch, she's extremely skittish and jumpy. Any loud sounds have her whirl around and lash out with hands extended. Unfamiliar situations, routines, and faces irritate here immensely. Vertigo is very aggressive almost nearly all the time when involving other people. She's very much a solitary person, preferring her own company and her surroundings to ramble to. Her blunt words to other people confuse others to the point where they're not sure she's being truthful or lying about a situation. Vertigo can also be incredibly cruel, pointing out flaws and being a harsh critic to both herself and others.
realistic -- well-rounded -- self-reliant -- intuitive -- dedicated
For a person so entrenched in mistrust and paranoia, Vertigo is surprisingly realistic. Her blunt nature provides the ability to give others a view in realism. She likes to be practical, often forgoing food to keep going at something. This also tells others that vertigo is a very hard worker, often to the point of forgetting to sustain herself. She can be very dedicated to something, and can remain stubbornly insistent on her views. Even with her dedication and mistrust, Vertigo is surprisingly intuitive. There will be moments where her instincts tell her to 'shut the hell up and listen,' and she will do so. Despite being rather self-reliant, Vertigo relies heavily on her intuition and instincts. Her education is also well-rounded, having been taught by many different people to get to where she is today.
HISTORY --Vertigo doesn't remember much from before she was five years old. The most she can try to garner from those years, is a dark place and a musty smell. Personally, the girl thinks she was in an orphanage. However, when she was picked up by a man in his thirties, she went with him without complaint or nary a word. While the man clearly took her in and gave her everything she wanted, Vertigo barely spoke to him and often hid away in her room.
When she turned ten, the man kind of dragged her physically out of her room and sat her down on the sofa. He quite bluntly stated, "You're of an age that you can go out and enjoy the world. Either you can leave now or I can adopt you fully into the family and introduce you at Christmas." Mostly bewildered and wary, she hesitantly agreed to the adoption.
Fast forward to a decade later and she's just finishing her two years at studying under a Breeder. Apart from her adoptive father and the rest of her adopted family, she was rather quiet and didn't talk much. It was several people who actually got on her bad side that proved that part to be somewhat wrong. She was quiet on her own initiatve, preferring to observe people.
However she could transform into quite the loud yeller within seconds and throw things at people. She most definitely is cruel to other people, but tries to curb her temperament and nature around Pokemon. Her adoptive father's female Reuniclus practically became a second mother to her.
More recently, her father's been pushing for Vertigo to get out of the house.
RP SAMPLE --Swiping her tongue over her lips, Vertigo considered the map of the city that she held in her hands. If the lab is here... she tapped a spot on it, nearly losing her grip on the piece of paper. Almost falling flat on her face against the railing to the beach, she opened the map further and scowled at where the beach was in contrast to the lab. I really don't want to have to go to the lab, but father's been so PUSHY lately...
Oh what the hell. Why not?
Mumbling under her breath, the twenty-three year old stuffed the map in the pocket of her dark purple hoodie. ---WIP
